Hi, I’m Josh.
In 2025, at a luxury hotel in California, I came across a reflecting pool built to display a set of beautifully designed metal sculptures. What I noticed beside the sculptures was the water: dark green, thick with algae, a film floating on top. It puzzled me. In an age when a phone can answer almost any question and rockets land themselves, why is something as everyday as keeping a body of water clean still so hard?
As I got to know the water-treatment industry better, I began to understand the manager’s side of it. Behind every well-kept body of water is a chain of work: chemicals to buy, store and top up; dosing, checking and adjusting, again and again. All of it has to be scheduled, and all of it takes the team’s time. Making it easier isn’t simple, once you add up the equipment, the installation it needs, how it’s operated and what it costs over the years.
How could equipment make this tedious work simpler? Fewer repetitive steps for the technician, an easier routine for the manager, and water that’s simply easier to look after. That question stayed with me.
I hope Morestone will be one answer to it.
Morestone is a water-treatment technology company in California, and we’re starting with commercial pools. We want to keep improving the technology and the equipment until water treatment fits quietly into daily operations, and water chemistry stops being obscure and becomes plain. That work has started. The first thing to come out of it, we’ll show you when it’s ready. What we learn on the way, we share in our Learning Center.
I hope what we make becomes a handy tool for you and your team: less running around and worrying about the water, and more attention for the place you’re trying to run and the people who come to it.
